Long Island Expressway Fatal: Victim ID'd In 2-Vehicle Crash

One driver was killed and another was injured in a two-vehicle crash on an exit ramp from the Long Island Expressway.

The deadly wreck happened at around 7 a.m. Friday, May 31, in Calverton, on the eastbound I-495 exit 71 ramp to Edwards Avenue.

Suffolk County Police said a Hyundai sedan was attempting to make a left turn onto northbound Edwards Avenue when it was struck by a Chevrolet pickup truck heading southbound.

The Hyundai driver, Scott Mancuso, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Authorities have not yet released his age or hometown.

The driver of the truck, a 24-year-old Calverton man, was taken by ambulance to Peconic Bay Medical Center and treated for minor injuries.
